Yakutia's business leaders gather for OPORA RUSSII's New Year gala and achievements
Yakutia’s OPORA RUSSII branch celebrated its 2023 successes with a New Year’s gala for local business leaders and self-employed professionals. The event took place at Yakutsk’s Tortuga restaurant, featuring live performances, a festive dinner, and a prize raffle with luxury items up for grabs. The evening began with greetings from Sardana Viktorovna Pavlova, chair of OPORA RUSSII’s Yakutia branch. She highlighted the organisation’s key achievements over the past year, including fundraising over 690,000 rubles for humanitarian aid in Anapa. In June, they also completed and opened the Tusulge cultural and leisure centre in Us-Khatyn.
Attendees enjoyed performances by popular Yakutia-based artists while taking part in a raffle. Prizes ranged from jewellery and electronics to a car fridge, a deep-freeze chest, and traditional Yakut footwear. The grand prize—a historical tour of Turkey’s ancient cities—drew particular excitement. Beyond celebrations, *OPORA RUSSII* supported practical initiatives in 2023. They equipped first-grade students from families of Special Military Operation participants with school supplies by September 1. The organisation also backed federal educational programs for veterans and their families, alongside hosting sports tournaments for business owners and the self-employed.
The gala marked the end of a busy year for OPORA RUSSII’s Yakutia branch. Their work included cultural projects, educational support, and direct aid for families in need. The event reinforced ties between local entrepreneurs while recognising their contributions to the region.
