Sberbank's AI Agent Conducts 130,000 Job Interviews in Early 2026

Sberbank has introduced an AI-powered agent to handle preliminary job interviews. The system has already conducted over 130,000 interviews in early 2026. It aims to speed up hiring while reducing the workload for recruitment teams. The AI agent takes charge of multiple recruitment tasks. It reviews resumes, creates tailored interview questions, and holds conversations with applicants. After each session, it automatically generates post-interview reports.

The technology has cut the time from application to initial screening from 23 hours down to just 3. This acceleration helps candidates receive faster feedback and improves their overall experience. Anna Ovchinnikova, Sberbank’s Senior Managing Director for Talent Acquisition, highlighted how AI is reshaping traditional recruitment models.

Future plans for the GigaRecruiter project include further refinements. The team will enhance candidate interaction scripts and integrate the system with the MAX messenger platform. Additionally, the project will expand to fully automated interview scheduling and introduce an AI assistant for vacancy briefings with hiring managers. The AI agent boosts scalability and efficiency across Sberbank’s recruitment process. By handling routine tasks, it reduces operational pressure on hiring teams. The bank expects further improvements as the system continues to develop.
