Sochi trader fined 30,000 rubles for illegal consumer loans

A sole trader in Sochi has been fined for illegally offering consumer loans without proper registration. The case was brought forward by the Central District Prosecutor’s Office after an investigation into the business activities. The entrepreneur operated from a secondhand store, providing loans despite not being registered as a microfinance organisation. Authorities launched an administrative case under Part 1 of Article 14.56 of the Russian Code of Administrative Offenses.

A court later ruled the trader guilty of the violation. The decision resulted in a penalty of 30,000 rubles.

The fine follows the court’s confirmation of the offense. The case highlights the legal requirements for financial service providers in Russia. Unregistered lending activities remain subject to administrative penalties.
