PLATINO Xcaret Awards 2026 dazzle with Latin glamour and tradition in Riviera Maya

The 2026 PLATINO Xcaret Awards brought glamour and tradition to Riviera Maya on Saturday night. Stars from across Latin America gathered at the Gran Tlachco Theater for the annual celebration of cinema and television. The evening kicked off with a vibrant calenda, a traditional Oaxacan procession, setting a festive tone for the ceremony. Hosts Carlos Torres and Cayetana Guillén-Cuervo welcomed guests to the stage, with the Spanish actress turning heads in a striking wine-coloured gown. Among the first to arrive was Mexican star Gretell Valdez, who made an elegant entrance in a sleek white dress. Chilean actor Jorge López, best known for Soy Luna, took to the podium to present the award for Best Animated Film.

The red carpet saw bold fashion choices from leading names in entertainment. Ana Claudia Talancón stood out in a daring purple halter dress, while Alfredo Castro, the celebrated theatre actor and director, kept it classic in a black tuxedo. Other attendees included Carolina Miranda, Diana Bovio, Evaluna, and Geraldine Bazán, all adding to the night’s star-studded atmosphere. Eva Libertad, nominated for Best First Feature with her film *Sorda*, shared her excitement backstage. She described the overwhelming response to the movie as both surprising and deeply rewarding.

The ceremony celebrated the best of Latin American film and television, with winners and nominees alike enjoying the mix of cultural spectacle and high-profile glamour. The event’s blend of tradition and modern entertainment left a lasting impression on attendees and viewers watching from home.
