Netflix expands Money Heist with new spin-offs and mysteries ahead

Netflix has announced plans to expand the Money Heist universe with new spin-offs and stories. The news came during the Seville premiere of Berlin Season 2, where Álvaro Morte, known for his role as the Professor, confirmed the franchise’s return. Fans now await further details on what form these projects will take.

The expansion was first teased at the world premiere of Berlin’s second season. Morte revealed that Money Heist would continue beyond its original series, though the exact format remains unclear. Netflix later confirmed multiple spin-offs rather than just a single additional season.

A short teaser for the new content has already been released. The clip ends with hands digging up a gold bar, leaving viewers speculating about possible plotlines. Among the confirmed projects is a four-episode miniseries centred on Colonel Tamayo, with Fernando Cayo returning to the role.

The Money Heist universe will grow with fresh narratives and surprises in development. The teaser’s cryptic ending and the announcement of Tamayo’s miniseries suggest more twists ahead. Netflix has yet to reveal release dates or additional casting details.
