Omsk begins phased shutdown of heating as spring temperatures rise

Heating systems in several districts of Omsk are being turned off as warmer spring weather arrives. Officials have announced specific dates for the end of the heating season, with some areas already shutting down their networks. Omsk started switching off heating on April 27, 2026. The process began earlier than in neighbouring districts due to rising temperatures.

In Poltavsky District, the heating season will end on May 4, 2026. The decision was confirmed by Order No. 102, issued by the district head on April 30, 2026. The shutdown follows a period of sustained warm weather, with temperatures staying above +8°C for three consecutive days.

Nearby Lyubinsky District will turn off its heating a day later, on May 5, 2026. Both districts have aligned their schedules with local weather conditions and regulatory requirements. The phased shutdowns mark the official close of the 2025–2026 heating season. Residents in Poltavsky District will see heating stop on May 4, while Lyubinsky District follows on May 5. The changes come as part of routine seasonal adjustments based on temperature trends.
