Macy's Unveils Largest Fourth of July Fireworks for 50th Anniversary Spectacle
Macy’s is set to celebrate the 50th anniversary of its Fourth of July Fireworks with the largest display in its history. The event will also mark America’s 250th birthday, featuring a spectacular show across three major launch sites. As part of the festivities, the retailer has launched the 'Golden Confetti' sweepstakes, offering 100 prizes, including a $100,000 shopping spree. The fireworks will light up the New York and New Jersey waterfront on Saturday, July 4. For the first time, the Brooklyn Bridge will serve as the centrepiece of the show, joining the Lower Hudson River and the Lower East River as launch sites. This expansion moves beyond the traditional single-river focus, creating new waterfront viewing opportunities.
The display begins at 8:00 PM, with the main event starting once darkness falls, around 9:25 PM. It will last for 25 minutes, illuminating the skyline. Official viewing areas will be announced in the coming weeks, along with updated road closures and pedestrian zones in areas like the Seaport, DUMBO, and the West Side Highway.
Those unable to attend in person can watch live on NBC or Peacock from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM EST. An encore broadcast will air at 10:00 PM on NBC, while Telemundo offers a Spanish-language simulcast starting at 8:00 PM EST. The 2026 Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks will be the most ambitious yet, combining expanded launch sites with a live broadcast for wider access. With the 'Golden Confetti' sweepstakes and new viewing spots, the event promises a memorable celebration of both the holiday and Macy’s milestone anniversary.
