Göttingen motorway slip road closes May 27 for bridge marking work
A section of the motorway slip road near Göttingen will close temporarily on May 27. The shutdown is needed for road marking work on the 'Göt 6' bridge over the Leine and Grone rivers. Drivers should expect delays between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. that day. The closure affects the B27 slip road toward the A7, specifically between the B3 exit and the Sartorius exit. However, the B3 exit from Göttingen and the access road toward Göttingen up to Sartorius will stay open. The Göttingen-Nord motorway slip road will also remain accessible.
The work was originally planned for March but was delayed due to poor weather. Officials stressed that dry conditions are essential for the new markings to last until the bridges undergo full reconstruction. Diversion routes will be clearly signposted during the closure. The five-hour shutdown aims to refresh road markings on the bridge structures. Drivers heading toward the A7 via the B27 slip road must use alternative routes. The work will only proceed if weather conditions remain suitable.
