Ysyakh Tuymaada 2023 Unites Tradition and Sport in Yakutia's Grand Festival

The national festival Ysyakh Tuymaada 2023 will take place on June 24–25 in the Us Khatyn area. Preparations are underway, with over 1 million rubles set aside for events, repairs, and celebrations. Horse racing, sports competitions, and cultural performances will feature prominently.

A budget of 1.05 million rubles has been allocated for the festival. The funds will cover technical maintenance at the Innokenty Svinoboyev Hippodrome, including repairs and restoration work. Organisers will also install traditional tyusulge structures and prepare for the awards ceremony.

On the first day, horse races will kick off at the hippodrome. The festival will also include the Dygyn Games 2023, a national sports competition, alongside concerts and contests. Ritual ceremonies will form part of the programme, blending tradition with entertainment. A festive banquet and cultural performances have been planned for veterans and agricultural workers. The event aims to bring together communities through sport, celebration, and shared heritage.

The two-day festival will showcase Yakut traditions, from horse racing to national sports. With funding secured, organisers have ensured the hippodrome and surrounding facilities are ready. The event will conclude with an awards ceremony for participants and performers.
