Russia's Interior Ministry celebrates 10th anniversary ice hockey tournament
The 10th anniversary ice hockey tournament for Russia’s Interior Ministry has concluded in Nizhny Novgorod. Twenty teams from across the country competed at the More Sporta complex. Officials praised the event’s organisation and the athletes’ fierce competition during the closing ceremony. The Gold Cup went to the Moscow team, with Nizhny Novgorod taking silver and Orenburg securing bronze. Alexei Polunin from Nizhny Novgorod was named best goalkeeper, while Alexei Lapkov of Orenburg won best defenseman. Andrei Kudashov of Moscow earned the title of best forward.
In the Silver Cup, Vologda Oblast finished first, followed by Bashkortostan and Novosibirsk Oblast. The Bronze Cup saw Volgograd Oblast in the top spot, Yaroslavl Oblast in second, and two teams sharing third place. Russian Federation Senator Dmitry Krasnov attended the ceremony alongside other officials. Mikhail Fedosov commended the tournament’s high standards and presented medals to Alexander Mudrov and Oleg Golovko. Yuri Arsentyev thanked both the participants and organisers for their dedication and hard work. Special recognition was also given to teams from Kaliningrad Oblast, Kursk Oblast, and Zabaykalsky Krai for their contributions to the event.
The tournament marked a decade of competitive ice hockey within Russia’s Interior Ministry. Winners received their awards, and organisers highlighted the event’s success. The next edition is expected to build on this year’s achievements.
