VR-Bank NordRhöhn celebrates 165 years with record growth and new leadership

VR-Bank NordRhöhn eG held its 165th General Representatives’ Meeting on Tuesday at the Kolpinghaus Municipal Hall in Hünfeld. Around 300 guests attended, including delegates, cooperative partners, and employees. The event marked another year of growth and strategic updates for the bank. The meeting began with financial highlights from 2025. The bank’s balance sheet total rose by €67 million, a 4.3% increase. Membership also grew, adding 360 new members to reach a total of 22,563 by the year’s end. Lending and deposit services, the bank’s core business, expanded beyond initial targets.

Delegates approved changes to the articles of association and electoral regulations. Elections followed, with Rudolf Engel, Frank Wiegand, Thomas Ziegler, and Silvio Lieber either re-elected or newly appointed to the Supervisory Board. The Executive Board and Supervisory Board were formally discharged from liability for the past year. To stay competitive against online financial services, the bank launched a dedicated advisory unit. A youth engagement strategy was also introduced, alongside an expanded social media presence. These steps aim to position the bank as modern, approachable, and competent for younger customers.

The meeting wrapped up with key decisions on governance and strategy. The bank’s growth in membership, lending, and deposits reflects its steady progress. New initiatives and leadership changes now set the direction for the year ahead.
