Vinegar Syndrome Unveils Stunning 4K Restorations of Cult Classics and Horror Gems

Vinegar Syndrome has revealed its latest lineup of Blu-ray and Ultra HD Blu-ray releases. The collection includes newly restored 4K editions of classic films, alongside standout horror and sci-fi titles.

This month’s highlights feature works from directors like Joe Dante, Lamberto Bava, and Robert Altman, each arriving in special editions with enhanced picture and sound quality. Joe Dante’s 1985 adventure Explorers will debut on Ultra HD Blu-ray with Dolby Vision. The sci-fi favourite joins Lamberto Bava’s 1980 horror Macabre, also receiving the same high-definition treatment.

Another key release is Ole Bornedal’s Freeze (1997), a remake of Nightwatch, now available in Ultra HD Blu-ray with Dolby Vision. All three titles—Explorers, Macabre, and Freeze—will be offered in various collector’s editions.

Robert Altman’s Come Back to the 5 & Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean (1982) is making its U.S. 4K debut. This edition includes bonus content and an English DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track.

Additionally, Alex Phillips’ horror film Anything That Moves (2025) is arriving on Blu-ray for the first time. The lineup showcases Vinegar Syndrome’s focus on both cult classics and fresh restorations. The new releases will give fans access to upgraded versions of beloved films. Each title comes with improved visuals, audio, and extra features.

Pre-orders are expected to open soon, with physical copies shipping in the coming weeks.
