Victoria Bonia sues Aurora Kiba for defamation in explosive Moscow trial
A legal battle between singer Victoria Bonia and reality TV star Aurora Kiba has reached a Moscow courtroom. Bonia is suing Kiba for 3 million rubles, claiming defamatory statements were made on social media that damaged her reputation. The dispute began after an episode of the show Zlye Yazyki, where Bonia commented on Kiba’s financial situation and relationship with musician Grigory Leps. Shortly after, Kiba allegedly posted accusations on Instagram, calling Bonia a 'mistress' and claiming she 'sold her body for money'. Bonia’s lawyer, Alexey Lunev, presented these claims in court as the basis for the lawsuit.
Kiba’s representative has denied the allegations, insisting she never made such statements. Despite this, Bonia’s legal team is working to recover deleted Instagram Stories they believe contain the defamatory posts. The court has also ordered notarized evidence of the posts to be submitted as part of the proceedings.
A recent hearing took place, marking the escalation of a feud that started in public but has now moved into formal litigation. Bonia maintains that Kiba’s remarks have harmed her honour and professional standing. The case will proceed with the submission of evidence, including recovered social media content. A final ruling will determine whether Kiba must pay the requested damages.
