Urals University and Veterans Group Forge Long-Term Partnership for Youth and Sports

Ural State Agrarian University and the public group Heroes of the Urals have formally agreed to work together. The partnership aims to strengthen ties between veterans and young people through education, sports, and social projects. Leaders from both sides signed the deal in a ceremony this week. The two organisations have collaborated before, most recently on a Victory Run event for Victory Day. Now, their first major joint project will be the Tournament of Limitless Possibilities, a mini-football competition bringing together veterans and university students.

Acting rector Mikhail Flyagin highlighted the value of veterans’ experience in shaping students’ values. He noted that the partnership would help develop new initiatives and deepen mutual understanding. Natalia Shmidko, executive director of *Heroes of the Urals*, explained that the goal is to move beyond single events. Instead, they plan a long-term programme focused on patriotism and helping veterans reintegrate into society. The agreement covers several key areas. These include patriotic education for young people, specialised training for veterans, regular sports events, and broader socially significant projects.

The signed agreement marks a shift from occasional events to structured cooperation. Future projects will involve students, veterans, and the wider community in joint activities. Both organisations have committed to expanding their efforts in education, sports, and social support.
