Two injured after VW Tiguan flips in overtaking crash on Federal Highway 4

A serious crash took place on Federal Highway 4 (B4) early on Friday morning. The collision involved a VW Tiguan and a box truck during an overtaking manoeuvre. Two people suffered minor injuries as a result. The accident unfolded when a 67-year-old driver of a VW Tiguan attempted to overtake several vehicles. At the same time, a 48-year-old man in a box truck was preparing to turn left onto State Road 265. The two vehicles collided, causing the Tiguan to spin out of control.

The force of the impact flipped the VW Tiguan, leaving it upside down in a ditch beside the road. Both the driver and the 58-year-old passenger in the Tiguan sustained minor injuries. Emergency services transported them to Uelzen Hospital for further checks.

Authorities closed the B4 for around an hour and a half to clear the scene and investigate the incident. The road has since reopened, but the crash serves as a reminder of the risks involved in overtaking on busy highways. Both injured individuals remain under observation at Uelzen Hospital.
