Seattle Storm snap losing streak with dominant 77-59 win over Sun

The Seattle Storm secured a convincing 77-59 win over the Connecticut Sun on Friday night. The victory ended a three-game losing streak for the Storm, who now look ahead to their next match against the Washington Mystics.

Zia Cooke led the charge with a career-high 25 points, while Flau'jae Johnson added a personal-best 17 points, along with 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Natisha Hiedeman also contributed 11 points and 5 assists, helping the Storm dominate offensively.

Defensively, the Storm held the Sun to just 7 points in the second quarter, outscoring them 18-7 to take a 37-28 halftime lead. Coach Sonia Raman later praised the team’s defensive effort and overall activity on the court. Despite allowing 32 points in the paint, Seattle outrebounded Connecticut 38-33. For the Sun, Diamond Miller topped the scoring with 13 points, and Aaliyah Edwards added 10. The Storm, however, are now awaiting the return of injured players Ezi Magbegor, Dominique Malonga, and rookie centre Awa Fam as they prepare for Sunday’s game against the Mystics.

The win marks a strong turnaround for the Storm after recent losses. With key players set to return, the team will aim to carry this momentum into their upcoming clash with the Mystics. The game is scheduled for Sunday.
