Schmalkalden-Meiningen's new Energy Savings Guide goes digital with interactive tools
The district of Schmalkalden-Meiningen has launched the third edition of its Energy Savings Guide. This updated version is now available as an interactive online brochure, providing easier access to energy-saving resources for residents and businesses. The new guide was developed by the district’s Energy Working Group. It features a modern design and updated content to align with the latest sustainability and efficiency standards. Key additions include dedicated chapters on heat pumps and municipal heat planning.
Inside, readers will find practical advice on reducing energy use in homes, integrating renewable electricity, and adopting e-mobility. The guide also offers tools like a carbon footprint calculator, solar calculator, and the Klima-Taler app to help users assess their energy impact. For convenience, the digital version includes direct links to relevant laws, funding programmes, and local expert advisors. District Administrator Peggy Greiser highlighted the aim of making energy-saving information more accessible to support a sustainable future. A free download of the guide is available on the district’s website at www.lra-sm.de/energy-savings-guide. A small number of printed copies can also be picked up at the District Administration Office in Meiningen, as well as at the branch offices in Schmalkalden and Charlottenstraße 5a.
The updated Energy Savings Guide provides both digital and printed resources for the community. With its expanded tools and contemporary design, it aims to help citizens and businesses make informed decisions on energy efficiency and sustainability. The district encourages residents to explore the guide for practical solutions tailored to their needs.
