Rolando Bregente Jr. wins NCAA Season 101 Golf with a one-stroke lead

The NCAA Season 101 Golf Tournament has crowned its first champion. Rolando Bregente Jr., a 24-year-old from Bukidnon, took the top spot with a narrow one-stroke lead. Meanwhile, San Beda’s Ice Reyes secured victory in the open division with a four-over 76. Bregente, who studies at Lyceum of the Philippines University, began playing golf at just eight years old. His training took place at Del Monte Golf and Country Club in his hometown of Manolo Fortich. In the tournament, he finished with a one-over-par 73, beating Zach Villaroman of UA&P by a single stroke.

The team competition saw the College of St. Benilde dominate with 115 points. Lyceum followed in second place, scoring 101 points, while UA&P took third with 95 points.

Bregente’s win marks the first individual title in the NCAA Season 101 Golf Tournament. His performance, along with St. Benilde’s team victory, sets a strong foundation for future competitions. The results also highlight the growing talent in collegiate golf across the region.
