Novorossiysk overhauls emergency repairs to boost heat supply efficiency
Novorossiysk Thermal Networks is making changes to improve how emergency repairs are handled. The company, which supplies heat to over 3.3 million square metres of the city, is cutting labour costs and streamlining operations. These efforts are part of a wider push to boost productivity under the regional Lean Region initiative. The team at Novorossiysk Thermal Networks is working to reduce the workload of emergency recovery tasks. Specialists are optimising equipment use and removing inefficiencies in workflows. One key method being rolled out is the 5S system, which is already in place at the company’s warehouse and emergency vehicle fleet.
Support is coming from the Regional Competence Center, which is sharing best practices from the federal Labour Productivity project. The company also plans to keep introducing lean manufacturing principles across all its divisions. This push for efficiency is not happening in isolation. The Krasnodar Territory’s Ministry of Fuel, Energy, and Housing and Utilities is partnering with the company to improve regional heat and water supply systems. By 2026, at least 20 other utilities in Kuban are expected to adopt similar measures.
The changes aim to make emergency repairs faster and less labour-intensive. With ongoing support and planned expansions, the initiative could soon extend to more utilities in the region. The goal is to create a more efficient and reliable heat supply system for Novorossiysk.
