Netflix's The Boroughs Unveils a Desert Mystery with a Legendary Cast
Netflix has released a new series called The Boroughs, created by The Duffer Brothers. Set in a desert retirement community, the show follows a group of older residents facing an otherworldly threat. The eight-episode season is now available to stream in full. The story centres on Sam Cooper, a retired engineer and recent widower played by Alfred Molina. After moving into the community, he begins to suspect something strange is happening around him.
Geena Davis stars as Renee, a free-spirited art teacher and former tour manager who brings creativity to the group. Alfre Woodard plays Judy, an ex-investigative reporter hiding a dangerous secret about the community. Her husband, Art, is portrayed by Clarke Peters—a neighbour to Sam who is often distracted and unreliable. Bill Pullman joins as Jack, Sam’s talkative and kind-hearted neighbour who tries to befriend him. Denis O’Hare plays Wally, a retired doctor and scientist desperately searching for a cure to his own illness. Together, these unlikely heroes must uncover the truth behind the mysterious events unfolding in their desert home.
