Mobtown Brewing Celebrates Seven Years with New Lease and Iconic Cat

Mobtown Brewing Company has marked seven years in Baltimore’s Brewers Hill neighbourhood. As the area’s only working brewery, it continues to attract locals with its craft beers and lively events. The team recently secured a new seven-year lease, giving them confidence for the future.

The brewery sits in a historic Westinghouse Electric factory at 4015 Foster Avenue. Inside, visitors find a relaxed, family-friendly space where dogs are welcome. A standout feature is Ernie, the brewery’s 22-year-old cat, who has become a local celebrity. His face appears on t-shirts, tap signs, and other merchandise.

Their best-selling beer, *The Doctor Says I’m Hazy*, is a hazy IPA that draws regulars. Beyond drinks, the brewery hosts weekly trivia nights every Thursday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. This summer, they will also hold the 3rd annual Charm City Heat Festival on July 11, 2023—a hot sauce competition and celebration. The past few years brought challenges, including the pandemic. Despite this, co-owner and head brewer David Carpenter remains optimistic. The new lease and ongoing community support have kept the business thriving.

Mobtown Brewing Company now looks ahead with a long-term lease and a packed events calendar. The Charm City Heat Festival and regular trivia nights will keep visitors coming. With Ernie the cat still greeting guests, the brewery remains a beloved spot in Baltimore.
