Meiningen's Herzog-Georg Night Run Aims for 1,000 Finishers in 2026

The 14th Herzog-Georg Night Run is set to take place in Meiningen on June 6, 2026. This year, organisers have set a new target of 1,000 finishers, with support from Rhön-Rennsteig Sparkasse. The event aims to bring the community together while promoting fitness and local club life. The night run will start and finish on Meiningen’s Market Square. A key feature of the event is the Town Challenge, a long-standing highlight that encourages team participation. This year, if the 1,000-finisher goal is reached, five clubs will benefit—three with the most participants and two chosen at random.

Rhön-Rennsteig Sparkasse is backing the event as part of its commitment to local clubs, volunteer work, and community activities. The bank’s involvement reflects its broader mission to strengthen regional ties. Should the target fall short, the prize money will carry over into a jackpot for the following year’s race.

The Herzog-Georg Night Run continues to grow, offering both a fitness challenge and financial support for local clubs. With the backing of Rhön-Rennsteig Sparkasse, the event reinforces community spirit while giving participants a chance to contribute to their clubs’ success. Registration and further details will be announced in the coming months.
