Kuwait's toy market booms with record imports and festive demand

Kuwait’s toy market has seen steady growth in recent years, with imports hitting new highs. Between 2021 and 2025, the country spent around KD 268.2 million on children’s toys. The latest figures show a sharp rise in demand, particularly during festive seasons like Eid and national holidays. In 2025, toy imports in Kuwait climbed to approximately KD 54.3 million—a 34.7% jump from the previous year. The second and fourth quarters recorded the highest values, reflecting peak shopping periods. Eid Al-Fitr, Eid Al-Adha, and national celebrations remain the biggest drivers of sales, as toys become central to festive traditions.

Educational toys, bicycles, electric scooters, and electronic entertainment products are among the most sought-after items. Yet traditional favourites like dolls, action figures, puzzles, and building sets still see strong demand during holidays. Retailers also rely heavily on social media and digital marketing to reach parents and children. Toys do more than entertain—they help create lasting memories and encourage social play among children. During Eid, in particular, they take on special significance as cherished gifts.

The toy market in Kuwait continues to expand, fuelled by rising import values and festive spending. With digital marketing playing a key role, manufacturers and retailers are well-positioned to meet growing demand. The trend suggests toys will remain a vital part of celebrations for years to come.
