Krasnodar Krai hospitals slash wait times with lean manufacturing principles
Hospitals in Krasnodar Krai are transforming patient care through new efficiency measures. A federal project, launched on 1 January 2025, is bringing proven industrial technologies into healthcare. One of the standout successes is Armavir City Hospital, where treatment times and data-sharing delays have been drastically reduced. Krasnodar Krai has long been a leader in applying lean manufacturing principles to public services. Since 2018, the region has developed over 770 standard operating procedures to streamline workflows. Armavir, one of the key municipalities, now has six clinics actively using these methods.
At Armavir City Hospital, the results have been striking. Medical rehabilitation for patients once took five months—now it takes just one and a half. Data transfers between hospitals and outpatient clinics, which previously took three hours, now require only 20 minutes. These changes have also boosted patient satisfaction: approval of wait times climbed from 68% to 87%, while awareness of care pathways rose from 66% to 92.7%. The financial benefits are clear too. The hospital saved 2.7 million rubles through these improvements. By 2026, 134 medical organisations across Krasnodar Krai will have adopted similar lean technologies.
The federal initiative is delivering measurable results in healthcare efficiency. Faster treatment, quicker data sharing, and higher patient satisfaction are already evident in Armavir. With further rollouts planned, more clinics in the region will soon follow the same model.
