Klepierre kicks off 2026 with €270M revenue and a strategic Portuguese acquisition

Klepierre, Europe’s largest shopping centre operator, has started 2026 with a net revenue of nearly €270 million. This marks a 2.8% rise compared to the same period last year. The company has also finalised a key acquisition in Portugal, taking full control of Aqua Portimão for €59 million. The deal to acquire the remaining 50% stake in Aqua Portimão was completed on April 16. Klepierre had previously shared ownership with Generali, but now holds 100% of the shopping centre. The company expects the purchase to generate a single-digit return within its first year.

Retail sales across Klepierre’s shopping centres have grown by 4.4% year-over-year in 2026. In Portugal alone, sales at its properties rose by over 5% during the same period. Aqua Portimão has been a standout performer, with sales surging by 33% over the past three years. Beyond Aqua Portimão, Klepierre owns two other major shopping centres in Portugal: Espaço Guimarães and Parque Nascente. The company’s total portfolio was valued at €21.2 billion in 2025, reinforcing its position as Europe’s leading operator in the sector.

The acquisition of Aqua Portimão strengthens Klepierre’s presence in Portugal. With steady revenue growth and rising sales across its properties, the company continues to expand its footprint. The deal is set to contribute to its financial performance from the first year onward.
