Highline Musical Theatre rebrands after 60 years of nurturing young talent

Highline Musical Theatre (HMT) has unveiled a fresh name and look after nearly 60 years of serving young performers. The organisation, originally known as the Hi-Liners, was founded in 1966 by teacher William A. Moeller. The rebranding marks a new chapter while honouring its long-standing roots in the community.

The group began as a summer arts programme for students in the Highline School District. Over time, it expanded into full-scale MainStage musical productions, drawing in performers, volunteers, and audiences from across South King County.

The new name, Highline Musical Theatre, reflects its wider reach and future ambitions. A redesigned logo, inspired by comic books, captures the energy and creativity of live theatre. The classic motto, *‘Once a Hi-Liner, always a Hi-Liner,’* remains unchanged. Artistic Director Kathleen Edwards explained that the update balances tradition with growth. The organisation continues its mission of giving young artists opportunities to perform. A new website, [hmt.art](https://hmt.art), now provides details on tickets, auditions, classes, and ways to support the programme.

The rebranding arrives as HMT celebrates six decades of theatre education. The updated identity aims to attract new participants while staying true to its history. Information on performances, camps, and involvement is now available online.
