Hawaii woman faces felony charges after violent home invasion and assault

A 25-year-old woman from Hawaii has been charged with multiple felonies after a violent domestic incident on Sunday. Timberly Paiva now faces serious allegations, including burglary, assault, and threatening behaviour with a weapon. The incident began when Paiva allegedly entered her ex-boyfriend’s home without permission. According to reports, she threatened him with a 45-pound weighted exercise plate before attacking him. The victim was struck with both open and closed fists, bitten on the back, and had his van damaged.

South Hilo Patrol officers later located Paiva at an Auwae Road residence. During her arrest, she reportedly kicked an officer in the left knee. Officer Alexis Amon-Wilkins led the investigation, which resulted in five charges being filed. Paiva appeared in Hilo District Court shortly after her arrest. Bail was set at $96,000, and a preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Thursday. The most severe charge, first-degree burglary, carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison. Terroristic threatening and assault against a law enforcement officer each carry a maximum penalty of five years.

Paiva remains in custody unless bail is posted. Her case will proceed to a preliminary hearing later this week. If convicted, she could face significant prison time for the multiple felony offences.
