Golden Knights take 2-0 lead over Avalanche in Western Conference Finals

The Vegas Golden Knights are now just two wins away from reaching the Stanley Cup Final. They took a commanding 2-0 lead in the Western Conference Finals after a hard-fought victory over the Colorado Avalanche in Game 2. The series now shifts to their home ice for Game 3, where they will aim to extend their advantage. Game 2 saw the Golden Knights secure a comeback win, with Ivan Barbashev scoring twice, including the decisive goal. Jack Eichel also played a key role in sparking the team’s late rally. Meanwhile, the Avalanche have been without star defenceman Cale Makar, who missed both opening games of the series.

The Golden Knights now hold a strong position, as only one team in NHL history has ever recovered from losing the first two games at home in a Conference Final. Despite this, the Avalanche still possess the firepower to turn the series around. Vegas, however, will look to push for a 3-0 lead when they host Game 3 in front of their home crowd. A win in Game 3 would bring the Golden Knights one step closer to the Stanley Cup Final. The Avalanche must respond quickly if they hope to avoid elimination. The next match will be crucial in determining whether Colorado can extend the series or if Vegas will move closer to clinching the West.
