Floods continue to plague Krasnoyarsk Krai, with a concerning situation arising in the settlement of Alexandrovskiy Shluz, part of the Yeniseiyskiy District. The river Kas, a left tributary of the Yenisey, is experiencing an increase in water levels.

As reported by the GU MCHS (Ministry of Emergency Situations) for the region, the actual water level in the river was 779 cm on the morning of May 7, with the dangerous level just 11 cm higher: 790 cm.

"There's a possibility of flooding residential areas and homes," warn the rescuers.

The settlement is located within the Yeniseiyskiy District of the region and was named after the shluz (sluice gate) that was built on the Ob-Yenisey Canal in 1898. Its permanent population is approximately 120 people, including families of Old Believers.

Alexandrovskiy Shluz tends to flood annually. For instance, in 2024, emergency preparation level was heightened from May 13. The water level in the Kas can rise by several dozen centimeters within a day.
