Moscow Region Breaks Central Russia's Deepest Snow Record

The Moscow region has recorded the deepest snow cover in central Russia, according to Tatyana Pozdnyakova, a senior specialist at the Meteonovosti news agency, who shared the update in her Telegram channel.

Weather data shows that in the eastern part of the Moscow region, snowdrifts in the settlement of Cherusti have reached 51 centimeters—higher than in neighboring areas, where depths do not exceed 45 centimeters.

"Snow deeper than 60 centimeters is only found in southern Arkhangelsk region, while even Crimea has seen a snow cover of up to 10 centimeters," she noted.

Earlier, Pozdnyakova had forecast the timing of the next snowfall for Muscovites. The expert warned that another wave of heavy snow is expected to hit the capital this coming Wednesday, January 14.
