FirstBank launches Visa Signature and Naira Debit Cards for Nigeria's cashless future
First Bank of Nigeria Limited has introduced two new payment cards: the Visa Signature card and the Naira Visa Debit Card. The launch aims to broaden access to electronic payments while offering exclusive benefits for different customer segments.
The move aligns with Nigeria’s push for a cashless economy and reinforces the bank’s focus on digital financial solutions. The Naira Visa Debit Card provides an affordable way for everyday consumers to make electronic payments. Priced at N1,000, it works across ATMs, POS terminals, and online platforms for both local and international transactions. Andrew Uaboi, Visa’s VP and Cluster Head for West Africa, noted that the card ensures wider access to digital payments for Nigerian users.
Meanwhile, the Visa Signature card targets affluent customers with premium perks. It includes global travel privileges, curated merchant discounts, and lifestyle benefits. Chuma Ezirim, Group Executive for eBusiness & Retail Products at FirstBank, highlighted how the new cards support Nigeria’s cashless policy while meeting diverse customer needs.
FirstBank has long prioritised customer-centric financial solutions. The launch of these cards reflects its ongoing efforts to enhance service quality and promote financial inclusion across different market segments. The introduction of the Visa Signature and Naira Visa Debit cards strengthens FirstBank’s role in Nigeria’s digital payment landscape. The cards cater to both mass-market and high-net-worth customers while advancing the country’s cashless economy goals. Both offerings are now available for customers seeking secure and convenient payment options.
