Dara's Eurovision hit Bangaranga tops German charts after 15-year drought
This week’s official German charts show a mix of new entries and long-standing favourites. Bulgarian pop star Dara has claimed the top spot on the singles chart with her Eurovision-winning track. Meanwhile, German rapper Ikkimel and Canadian artist Drake have both secured number-one positions in the album rankings. Dara’s Bangaranga has debuted at number one on the German singles chart. The song marks the first Eurovision winner to reach the top since Loreen’s Euphoria in 2008. Just behind it, Justin Bieber and Nicki Minaj’s Beauty and a Beat sits at number two, while Prada Sport by Pashanim, AK Außerkontrolle, and Selim61 takes third place. Further down, Drake holds eight simultaneous entries, including Janice STFU at 25 and National Treasures at 33. The Rolling Stones also make an appearance with In the Stars, their new single from Foreign Tongues, entering at 61.
On the album charts, Ikkimel’s *Poppstar* has debuted at number one. Drake’s *Iceman* follows closely, also claiming the top spot in its first week. His other releases, *Habibti* and *Maid of Honour*, have entered the top 100 as well. Udo Lindenberg remains a strong presence with three albums in the top 10: *Alles unter einem Hut – Eure Favoriten* at two, *We Love Udo – Das Udo Lindenberg Tribute Album* at four, and *Alles unter einem Hut* at nine. The official German charts are compiled by GfK Entertainment for the Federal Music Industry Association. They track around 90 percent of all music sales in the country.
Dara’s Bangaranga now stands as the first Eurovision-winning single to top the German charts in over 15 years. Ikkimel and Drake have both secured leading positions in the album rankings, while Udo Lindenberg maintains a strong hold with multiple entries. The latest updates reflect a diverse mix of international and local artists shaping the current music scene.
