CN boosts industrial growth with five new rail-ready sites across North America
CN has expanded its Certified Rail-Ready Sites program by adding five new industrial locations. The company is also re-certifying six existing sites across its North American network. These moves aim to help businesses quickly establish operations in key industrial regions. The five new sites submitted for certification include Michigan AMD (1,400 acres), Buick City (55 acres), Carbondale Site (100 acres), Leatherman Site (190 acres), and Willow Glen Site (500 acres). These join six re-certified locations: Enterprise Park at Fulton (53 acres), Helena Industrial Complex (46 acres), Mattoon Prairie Industrial Park (420 acres), MEC Smart Park (70 acres), NW TN Regional (296 acres), and Rialto Industrial Park (146 acres). In total, eleven sites will now be certified through CN’s partnership with the Site Selectors Guild’s REDI Sites program.
CN’s network spans Canada and the United States, linking businesses to major markets. The program identifies rail-served locations that allow companies to move swiftly from site selection to full operations. Janet Drysdale, CN’s Executive Vice-President and Chief Commercial Officer, highlighted the importance of strategic, rail-connected sites in accelerating business growth.
Didi Caldwell, President & CEO of Global Location Strategies and REDI Sites Board Chair, emphasised that readiness gives businesses a competitive edge. The certified sites are positioned in high-demand industrial areas, supporting sustainable trade and local economic development. The expansion of CN’s Certified Rail-Ready Sites program provides more options for businesses needing efficient rail access. With eleven sites now certified or re-certified, companies can establish operations faster in well-connected industrial hubs. The initiative reinforces CN’s role in facilitating trade and community prosperity across North America.
