China-Russia freight partnership launches with first container shipment to Nakhodka
A new strategic partnership has been formed to boost freight transport between China and Russia. The agreement, signed by major logistics firms, will develop multimodal routes along the East-West corridor. It also marks the arrival of the first container shipment from China to Nakhodka’s Astafiev Terminal. The deal was finalised between Ruslan Kondratov, President of Aqua-Resources Group, and Alexander Kakhidze, Head of Fininvest Group. Their collaboration includes Astafiev Terminal and Logoper, both aiming to speed up cargo movement and build long-term trade links.
The first vessel under this partnership, *Yuan Rui Ji Yun*, recently docked at Nakhodka. It carried 988 containers of general cargo from China, unloaded at a rate of 30 containers per hour. The shipment is now being prepared for rail transport deeper into central Russia. Kondratov highlighted the agreement’s role in reinforcing Nakhodka’s status as a vital logistics centre in the Far East. The partnership also strengthens broader economic ties between Russia and China by improving freight efficiency along key trade routes.
The newly signed agreement will streamline cargo flows between Asia and Europe. Faster unloading and coordinated rail links are expected to reduce delivery times. Both companies plan to expand cooperation, focusing on long-term growth in multimodal transport.
