BRICS Chamber of Commerce unveils new leadership for 2026–2029 term
The BRICS Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BRICS CCI) has sworn in its new Governing Body for the term April 2026 to March 2029. The election process, overseen by former IAS officer Shri Jalaj Shrivastava, saw all candidates elected unopposed.
The newly formed Governing Body consists of 35 members, bringing together professionals from various sectors. Key leadership roles were filled during the ceremony: Mr. Sameep Shastri took office as Chairman, while Ms. Shabana Nasim and Mr. Atul Banshal were appointed Vice Chairmen. Mr. Prann Sharma was named Director General, and Mr. Ruhail Ranjan assumed the position of Director Finance.
Mr. Shastri officially began his term after the Oath Taking Ceremony. The Chamber also honoured Dr. BBL Madhukar by appointing him as Chairman Emeritus in recognition of his contributions. Additionally, Lt. Gen. D.V. Kalra and Mr. Amit Mittal were co-opted as Members of the Governing Body during the Annual General Meeting. Under this new leadership, BRICS CCI plans to broaden its engagement across emerging economies and industries. The team is set to push for stronger trade, investment, and partnerships among BRICS nations and their allies.
The newly elected leadership will now focus on expanding the Chamber’s influence and fostering economic cooperation. Their term runs until March 2029, with a clear agenda to strengthen ties between BRICS countries and beyond.
