Blue-collar job vacancies skyrocket as labor shortages deepen in key sectors
Job vacancies for manual and frontline roles have surged over the past year, according to data from Avito Rabota. Positions like industrial climbers, mechanics, and MEP fitters now show far higher demand than before. Yet the labour market remains uneven, with some areas struggling to fill key positions while others stay balanced. Industrial climbers have experienced the sharpest rise in job openings, with vacancies up by 141%. Mechanics and pickup point operators follow closely, seeing increases of 98% and 99% respectively. Service advisors and MEP fitters have also seen major jumps, with vacancies rising by 96% and 130%.
Despite the growing demand, the number of résumés posted on Avito Rabota has climbed by 49% year-over-year. Blue-collar and frontline roles now dominate job listings on the platform. However, the shortage is not uniform across all regions or professions. Some areas still maintain a steady balance between supply and demand. Others face a critical lack of qualified workers, leaving employers struggling to fill essential positions.
The data highlights a widening gap in certain sectors, where demand for skilled manual labour far outpaces supply. While more job seekers are submitting résumés, the mismatch persists in high-growth roles. Employers in these fields may need to adjust recruitment strategies to attract the right talent.
