Nighttime temperatures hovering around -1°C to -2°C are expected across Moscow and the region until next weekend, as per meteorologists at Russia's Hydrometeorological Center. During the day, it will reach +13°C to +15°C, but on May 8, it's predicted to drop to +10°C to +12°C, with a sprinkle of showers.

Be prepared for a chilly surprise on the eve of May 9, as there's a possibility of rain mixed with a brief burst of wet snow. But fear not, Muscovites! The memories of last year's snowstorm on Victory Day are still fresh, but this cold snap should only last through the night.

Expect a relatively cool May 9, with temperatures ranging from +9°C to +11°C, and a chance of light rain. The weekend of May 10 and 11 will also see temperatures below the 12°C mark.

Dr. Roman Vilfand, scientific director of Russia's Hydrometeorological Center, shared some insight on this unusual weather pattern on the "Komsomolskaya Pravda" radio. He explained, "This cold weather is considerably 6 degrees below the climatic norm, usually seen only at the beginning of April." Nothing much can be done, though, as the unpredictability of spring is well-documented, akin to the whims of a fickle beauty.

So, when can we expect the charmless spring to transition into a warmer, friendlier one?

Dr. Vilfand isn't doling out much hope. He assures us, "Only starting from May 15-16 will the temperature reach the 15-degree mark."

Environmental scientists predict a significant improvement in spring temperatures from May 15-16, marking the transition from the current chill to warmer conditions. Meanwhile, the future of weather-forecasting in environmental science could potentially help us predict such unpredictable spring weather patterns more accurately.
