Amazon driver stops husband's brutal hammer attack on wife in Minnesota
A 72-year-old Minnesota man has been charged after allegedly attacking his wife with a hammer. The incident was stopped when an Amazon delivery driver intervened and called emergency services. The attack took place after the husband reportedly planned to kill his wife to prevent her from living on reduced Social Security benefits. He intended to knock her unconscious before carrying out the killing.
The victim suffered two large, bloody wounds on her head, consistent with multiple hammer strikes. The assault was witnessed by an Amazon delivery driver, who quickly took the weapon from the man and dialled 911. Court records show the suspect is the general manager of a struggling business. He now faces one count of first-degree attempted murder and one count of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon.
The husband remains in custody on serious charges. The victim’s injuries were documented as severe, with medical reports confirming the hammer strikes. The case will proceed through the legal system in the coming weeks.
