Young stars dominate Subic Bay International Triathlon 2024 podiums

Young athletes shone at the Subic Bay International Triathlon (SuBIT) on Sunday. The event saw standout performances across multiple age groups, with local and international competitors securing top spots in their divisions.

In the Under-15 division, Diego Jose Dimayuga and Lauren Lee Tan took first place in the boys' and girls' super sprint races, respectively. Dimayuga completed the course in 35 minutes and 59 seconds, narrowly edging out Pio Mishael Gabriel, who finished second with a time of 36:31. Joseph Ian Caluste of Be Tritans rounded out the podium, crossing the line in 36:58.

Lauren Lee Tan led the girls' division with a time of 38:25. Naomi Rosalie Dimayuga followed closely, earning silver in 39:10, while Alaina Bouffaut secured bronze with a time of 40:15. The super tri-kids category for ages 11-12 was won by Marcus Jayden Balaquit and Danica Mireille Angodung. Meanwhile, in the women’s division, Naomi Felicity Aytin of BYBS/GAS Coaching dominated with a time of 1:23:33. Anes Khelili of Qatar claimed victory in the standard men’s 16-19 years division, finishing in 1:06:36.

The Subic Bay International Triathlon showcased talent from both local and international athletes. Winners in each category set strong times, highlighting the competitive spirit of the event. Their performances mark a successful edition of SuBIT for 2024.
