Young Boxers Compete in 44th Interregional Class B Tournament Honoring Kirill Batuma
The 44th Interregional Class B Boxing Tournament is underway in Vanino, honouring Soviet Hero Kirill Batuma. More than 80 young boxers aged 13 to 18 have gathered from cities across Khabarovsk Krai and Sakhalin. The event kicked off with patriotic ceremonies, including a memorial visit and the distribution of St. George’s ribbons. The competition began with a focus on remembrance and tradition. Participants took part in a visit to a local memorial and received St. George’s ribbons, a symbol of military honour.
Today’s schedule features semifinal and final bouts starting at 4:00 PM. The remaining finals will take place tomorrow, May 7, at 10:00 AM, followed by the awards ceremony. The tournament will officially close with a ceremony on May 7, marking the end of the two-day event. Athletes from across the region have trained hard for this opportunity to compete at a high level.
