FC Ufa penalized for no-show as SKA-Khabarovsk claims rare victory
FC Ufa has been penalised for failing to attend a scheduled match against SKA-Khabarovsk. The Russian Football Union’s Disciplinary Control Committee ruled in favour of the opposition, awarding a default victory. The decision marks SKA-Khabarovsk’s first win in 10 games this season.
The incident unfolded on May 3, 2026, when FC Ufa did not appear for the away fixture in Khabarovsk. The club later explained that airspace restrictions and suspended flights—caused by reported drone threats—prevented their travel. Despite the justification, the disciplinary committee found FC Ufa in breach of its code.
As a result, the match was recorded as a 3–0 default win for SKA-Khabarovsk. No further sanctions were placed on FC Ufa, though the committee hinted at possible reductions in existing disciplinary penalties for SKA-Khabarovsk players.
The ruling grants SKA-Khabarovsk three crucial points in the league standings. FC Ufa avoids additional punishment but remains accountable for the missed fixture. The outcome shifts the season’s momentum for both teams.
