Yekaterinburg shuts outdoor attractions as extreme cold grips the city

Yekaterinburg shuts outdoor attractions as extreme cold grips the city

Several attractions in Yekaterinburg's Mayakovsky Park, including the T-Bank's 17-meter slide, will be closed on January 12 and 13. The Northern Lights ice rink will remain shut from January 12 to 15.

On Arkhangela Mikhaila Street, the 24-meter Energy RMK slide and the Ice Energy rink will both be closed from January 13 to 15. However, the Fairy-Tale Forest, the Ice Adventure Town, the RMK Extreme zone, food trucks, and heated pavilions will operate as usual.

Yekaterinburg will face a sharp cold snap during the first workweek of the year. On Tuesday, January 13, daytime temperatures will plummet from –10°C to –18°C, dropping further to –29°C overnight on January 14. A slight warming trend is expected by January 17, with daytime highs stabilizing around –12°C to –10°C. Throughout the week, skies will remain partly cloudy with no snow forecast.
