Winter Conditions Cause Multiple Accidents on Thuringia's Highways

Slippery roads and excessive speed are currently leading to numerous traffic accidents across Thuringia's highways.

The A4 east of Hermsdorf Cross is particularly affected by severe disruptions. Some lanes are partially closed, while entire sections of the carriageway are fully blocked in places.

Drive with extreme caution. The watchword now is: Ease off the accelerator.

Keep a safe distance from the vehicle in front and prepare for delays. Remember that icy conditions significantly increase braking distances.

Allow plenty of extra time for your journey. Arriving five minutes late—but safe and sound—is far better than risking an accident.
