Yasnaya's 50th Anniversary Park gets a modern makeover ahead of schedule
Yasnaya’s Komsomol 50th Anniversary Park is undergoing a major transformation after winning a public vote in 2024. The project secured funding through the federal 'Comfortable Urban Environment' programme. Now, contractors are racing to finish the upgrades ahead of the original 2028 deadline—possibly even by City Day this year. The renovation began with a full clean-up of the park’s pond. Workers removed around 1,000 cubic metres of sediment and overgrown plants from its bottom. The contractor, Uralagrotekhservis, is also tasked with installing lighting and 30 security cameras to improve safety.
New pathways and sidewalks now cover 4,000 square metres of the park. Four children’s playgrounds and four sports areas have been built, alongside a dedicated dog-walking zone. The plan includes a running track, around 100 benches, and freshly planted trees and shrubs. Originally set for three years of work, the project may wrap up much sooner. The company aims to complete all tasks before the scheduled 2028 finish, potentially in time for the town’s annual City Day celebrations.
The park’s upgrades will add modern amenities, better safety, and more green space for residents. With new playgrounds, sports zones, and improved walkways, the area is set to become a key spot for outdoor activities. If completed early, the project could open to the public well before its original deadline.
