Vladivostok Honors War Veterans With Mass Fitness Tribute on Victory Day
Vladivostok hosted a patriotic fitness campaign on Victory Day to honour those who fought in the Great Patriotic War. The event, named 'Victory Record,' brought together adults and children for a day of physical challenges with a deeper meaning. Participants gathered at Sukhanov Square to take part in the campaign. The goal was to complete 29,585 exercises—one for each day since May 9, 1945. Groups of 18 people took turns on the exercise platform, rotating through sit-ups, push-ups, and kettlebell lifts.
The event allowed flexibility, with participants choosing their own number of repetitions and taking breaks when needed. Some athletes returned multiple times, eager to contribute even more to the collective effort. The atmosphere remained energetic as people of all ages joined in the tribute. By the end of the day, the total number of exercises reached the target, symbolising resilience and remembrance.
The 'Victory Record' campaign successfully combined fitness with commemoration. Participants left having contributed to a shared act of respect for wartime veterans. The event’s structure ensured everyone could take part, regardless of age or fitness level.
