Vienna's Eurovision Children's Disco draws hundreds of young partygoers

A long queue of children and parents stretched outside The Loft nightclub in Vienna’s 16th district on Saturday. They were waiting for the Eurovision Children’s Disco, a free event organised by Austrian broadcaster ORF and the city’s youth programme, wienXtra. Inside, around 400 young attendees had signed up for an afternoon of music, dancing and fun. The event was aimed at elementary school-aged children, offering them a chance to experience a nightclub setting in a child-friendly way. Within half an hour, the dance floor filled with energetic kids, while parents lined the edges to watch. Songs like I’m a Gummy Bear and The Red Horse played alongside Eurovision classics, keeping the atmosphere lively.

After two hours, nearly 300 people packed the venue, with queues extending from the entrance to the photo booth. Downstairs, airbrush stations provided temporary tattoos, and a photo area let children take home souvenirs. The success of this event has led to another Children’s Disco, scheduled for the Eurovision final on Saturday, May 16, at Club Praterdom. The Eurovision Children’s Disco gave young attendees a rare chance to enjoy a nightclub environment safely. With 400 registered participants, the event proved popular, combining music, activities and a festive atmosphere. A second disco is now planned for the Eurovision final, offering more children the same experience.
