Tigo Energy and EG4 Partner to Boost US-Made Solar Tech
Tigo Energy has sent its first batch of module-level power electronics (MLPE) to EG4 Electronics. The delivery marks a new partnership aimed at boosting American-made solar technology. Both companies highlighted the move as a step toward greater energy independence in the US. The shipment includes 650W TS4-A-O optimisers, Cloud Connect Advanced (CCA) data-logging devices, and Tigo Access Point (TAP) units. These components were assembled at Tigo’s facility in Vancouver, Washington. EG4 will now integrate them into its inverters, which are manufactured in the USA.
The completed systems will meet the requirements for Section 45X manufacturing tax credits. They will also qualify for the 10% domestic content bonus under the Section 48E tax credit. The Section 45X incentive supports US-based production of eligible components, with a planned phase-out by 2033. EG4’s parent company, Energy Access Innovations, expanded its operations in 2025 by opening a 310,000 square-foot manufacturing plant in Commerce, Texas. EG4 Electronics president Aaron Waplington noted that the collaboration with Tigo reinforces energy and manufacturing self-sufficiency for American innovators.
The partnership between Tigo and EG4 aligns with US tax incentives for domestic solar production. The integrated systems will now be eligible for federal credits, reducing costs for manufacturers and customers. The move also strengthens local supply chains for renewable energy components.
