Syktyvkar charity fulfills elderly dreams ahead of Victory Day

A charity campaign in Syktyvkar is working to fulfil the long-held dreams of five elderly residents ahead of Victory Day. The initiative, backed by Lenta Group and the Dari Yedu foundation, will also provide food support to veterans, war survivors, and other vulnerable groups. The 'Chain of Good Deeds' campaign has already confirmed that Aleftina Nikolayevna’s wish to visit St. Petersburg will come true. She will pay her respects to the relics of St. Xenia of Petersburg and St. John of Kronstadt. Four other elderly beneficiaries will also see their dreams realised as part of the project.

Local residents can contribute by donating non-perishable food at two Hyper Lenta supermarkets. Collection points are located at Sysolskoye Highway, 27/2 and Oktyabrsky Prospect, 141. The campaign aims to raise 1 million rubles to fund 400 festive food parcels. Volunteers from the Dari Yedu charity will gather the donations, assemble them into care packages, and deliver them. Beneficiaries include veterans, children of war, survivors of the Siege of Leningrad, home front workers, and former concentration camp prisoners.

The campaign will provide both material support and personal fulfilment for elderly residents. Food parcels will reach hundreds of vulnerable individuals in time for Victory Day. Organisers have confirmed that all donations will go directly to those in need.
