Ryan Clark Demands Fair Pay and Protections for MMA Fighters
While NFL players await a new collective bargaining agreement until 2030, MMA fighters continue to fight for honor in a system where there are no uniform standards. Former professional footballer and current ESPN expert Ryan Clark is convinced that no cardinal changes are expected. His words are quoted by MMA Fighting:
"I don't think anything will change until regulatory bodies appear. In each organization, decisions are made by a small group: who fights whom, where and how much fighters receive."
According to the expert, the current model only intensifies competition for a spot in the top, but does not solve the problem of base salaries. At the same time, Clark acknowledges: fighters deserve more, given the physical, emotional and mental loads, as well as the short career span.
