Novorossiysk farmers double sunflower fields to meet rising demand

This season, farmers in Novorossiysk have focused their efforts on sunflower cultivation, Mayor Andrei Kravchenko announced in his Telegram channel.

Four local growers plan to sow around 600 hectares of the crop—double last year's planting rate. Additionally, one agricultural producer intends to dedicate roughly 100 hectares to spring barley.

The farmers are using only domestically bred seeds, which not only supports Russian producers but also ensures high yields and resilience to local climate conditions.

"Sowing season is always an intense period, demanding maximum effort from our farmers, but it is also a time of great hope for a bountiful harvest," the city's mayor added.
